About Us

Specialising in the sale and repair of antique mercury barometers, Aaron Tomlinson Barometers came about following on from a history of restoring mainly Georgian and Regency period antique furniture. Over many years, refining this down to the fine barometers that can be viewed in the showroom section of this website.

As the second generation of an antiques based family, having grown up surrounded by all things period, but especially clocks, going to auctions, fairs and visiting dealers from childhood. I came into barometers through the restoration of antique furniture, being asked to restore a barometer every now and then and realising that it was an area of the trade that I wanted to hone in on and make my specialist subject.

After having a prescence in the market town of Ashbourne for over 10years, I am now working from my Derby based workshop where I buy, restore and sell good examples of mercury barometers from across the Georgian to the earlier part of the Victorian eras.  I also offer a restoration service of barometers for members of the public and invite them to bring repairs to my workshop and see some examples of the barometers on display.
