Good 18th century ebonised bracket clock with rare moonphase dial by Henry Sanderson of London.
The 8 inch arched dial with applied silvered chapter ring, corner spandrels, finely matted centre with false pendulum and name apertures and a painted dial showing the phases of the moon. The chapter ring is engraved with Arabic minute and Roman numeral hour indicators.
The ebonised bell top case with inverted fitted with a brass carrying handle, silk lined pierced sound frets to the front door and glazed side panels and rear door, all supported on ornate brass cast feet.
The fusee movement runs for eight days with a verge escapement and strikes the hour on a bell. The back plate is elaborately engraved with scrolling foliage.
