A Georgian mahogany single pad top bracket clock with rare skeletonised movement by Richard Baker of Tamworth. The single pad top case veneered with figured mahogany and outlined with brass quarter beading, brass fish scale sound frets lined with red silk and glazed doors front and rear, standing on brass ball feet.
The unusual 8 day double fusee movement having engraved skeletonised plates, tik-tak escapement, repeat function and strike silent feature.
Richard Baker is noted for making these very individual movements with skeletonised plates, he worked in Tamworth from circa 1780 until he died in 1825.
